Santa Rosa woman badly injured in Friday car crash

A 71-year-old Santa Rosa woman was seriously injured when the person car struck a big redwood tree off Saint Helena Road north of Santa Rosa on Fri night.

The woman, identified as Marianne Murray, was traveling eastbound in a Subaru Forester around 6:10 in the afternoon when she veered off the road for not known reasons about two miles east of Calistoga Road, at Tarwater Road, the CHP said.

Murray’s car struck a redwood about two ft. in diameter, CHP Sergeant Andrew Henkens said.

She suffered major injuries in the crash and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment, Henkens said.
